As cheesy as it sounds, I have a rock that sits on my desk with the word "faithful" on it. It is a daily reminder of all the Lord has done in my life, and a reminder of how He will continue to be faithful. About two months ago, I wrote on this topic in my ministry website. As I reread it this morning, I thought how applicable it still is today, and how I pray I always am able to have the faith to see the Lord's faithfulness before me. To update the words a little, just add moved 2 more times, have been on campus for 5 weeks now, and experienced the Lord's grace as I fumble my way through learning my new job."As I think back through the past semester of my life, the Lord's hand is clearly visible. Words such as ambiguious, unknown, dependent, random, and unexpected immediately come to mind when you look at the surface of the events that passed, but the word that covers all is FAITHFUL.
On the surface, one would see how I moved about 4 to 5 times, really had no idea when I would be able to move up to Lubbock to start working with students at Texas Tech University, and was completely dependent on other people and most of all the Lord. I went into the semester thinking it would happen one way, and unexpected things came up showing me again and again that more often than not, the Lord's plan is completely different than my own.
I love that about the Lord. I love that as I reported to Texas Tech on December 1st, I could truly say that it was all because of the Lord and not because of myself.
I feel so blessed to have been able to already move up to the school I now call home. To meet the students that are so kind, welcoming and passionate about serving the Lord. To be a part of a team that cares about each other and works together with great purpose.
The Lord truly has, as He always is, been FAITHFUL."
