I'm not sure why I've shied away from writing more reflective thoughts on here lately. Despite my busy life with work, crafts and working out all of the time to finish the Iron Man, I promise I do continue to reflect a lot on things. Often, I'm sure, to the point of over analyzation.
Lately, it's been on how much I need the Lord. I mean really, a lot. I continue to be in never ending awe of how amazing the Lord is and how much more I get to discover about what it means to live life with Him daily.
Here are just some snip its of what I'm learning or what I've seen the Lord do lately.
-We have seen quite a few students become Christians this semester which as we sit and go through the foundational truths of who Christ is, I sit amazed that I get to have a relationship with Him. I need Him to help me share truth with these new believers.
-I'm reading a book called Shattered Dreams by Larry Crabb that has blown me away discussing the reality of how as Christians trials will happen, but the Lord is continually faithful and good. I need Him to help me find the joy that comes in trials and shattered dreams.
-Every Tuesday I get to sit with 3 new Christian girls going through the foundations of Christianity. Two of the girls are from Africa, one from Lubbock, all united now in friendship through their love of Christ. I need Him to remind me of how beautiful the body of Christ is represented by my Tuesday evenings with these girls!
-I lead a Bible Study with 9 girls that reach out to the dorms, Greeks, Latin American students, African American Students, off campus students, coworkers, and high schoolers. We've started watching movies together every Sunday night, and it is such a sweet time of just living life with them. I need Him to remind me to just love girls through being who I am whether in Bible Study or not.
-I decided I'm going to reread the Bible in a Year again but this time chronologically. Reading through it last year really did change my life and continue to put a passion for the Word in me like never before, so I'm really excited to do it again but this time in order of the events happened versus the books in order. I need Him to help me have discipline to wake up and spend time in His Word and let it transform who I am.
I'm sure I could write much more, but for now, the Lord is good and I'm excited to be able to share what He might teach me through reading His Word each day.
