Flawed and Oh So Loved

My initial thought to the phrase "Flawed and Oh So Loved" is the love of Christ. I mean that is what I feel like I'm supposed to say. I am flawed, but the Lord still loves me so much. To be honest, though, I can't say that I feel that on a daily basis. I'm not saying it isn't true. It is. I am flawed. The Lord does love me despite that. I whole heartedly believe that. Recently, though, it is definitely something I'm trying to experience more of. It's something I wonder about. What would it really look like if I lived out this belief? That no matter what I do, no matter what my flaws, I am loved unconditionally.

Thankfully, the Lord has put people in my life to give me a glimpse of what it feels like. My family for one is a great example. I can be quick tempered, quirky, judgmental, so unfair to them yet they still love me. My friends will listen to all of my insecurities over and over again, usually telling me the same wise advice over and over again, yet continue to keep me around. Even my dog. I literally left her for 2 years, to be taken care of by other people, yet she follows me around as if I'm the most famous person on earth.

As I'm writing this, I realize that what is exciting, is that so often experiencing the Lord's love is through experiencing the love of other people. He doesn't have to use other people to love us. His love is true regardless. How sweet, though, that he does allow us to tangibly experience it through people around us. The interactions we have daily in our lives. The laughter through a conversation on the other end of the phone. The comfort from a hug of a loved one.

I began this little post thinking experiencing the Lord's love was going to take a lot more thought and mind hurting learning sessions. Maybe that is true, but maybe I should just open my eyes and realize experiencing His love is as easy as understanding it is continually before me.
