Recognize the picture? It is an Italian Visa like the one I posted before. Only this time it does have my name and my picture on it.
I am excited to share with you that yesterday a wonderful FedEx package was waiting for me when I got home. In this white envelope was my passport...with a beautiful Visa glued within it. The consulate granted us a student Visa allowing us to go back next Thursday (February 1st) and stay until the scheduled end of our Stint year (about mid to late July.)
To be honest, I have mixed emotions about the Visa. I have been able to work with the Texas A&M ministry over the past week, and found myself quickly growing attachments to the staff, students and general ministry here at A&M. This staff and this ministry had such a great impact on my life while I was in college, that it was incredible to be able to be working alongside people that I admire so much. I am also so encouraged by how much the Lord is visibly working within the students currently involved. It was definitely a very refreshing week to see a ministry that we all long to become a similar reality at the University of Florence someday.
Seeing what the University of Florence ministry could one day look like through my time at A&M, excites me to go back and help invest more time into the new believers, share more with the non-believing students we know, and meet new students for the purpose of introducing them to Christ.
Thank you for all of your prayers for our Visa. The Lord definitely heard them and was gracious to answer them. This time at home has reminded me over and over again that the Lord is bigger than any difficulty that arises in our life, and that He has an incredible plan that we most likely will not be able to see but must trust is there.
