I know. I know. Another post about swimming. Someday the excitement will wear off, but for now here's another one. I honestly can't remember if I started swimming laps two weeks ago or just one, but I'm glad I did. It's amazing how quickly you can improve going three times a week for 30 minutes. I vividly remember day one. In my head I thought, "This can't be that bad. I used to do this a LOOONG time ago." Well it kicked my booty. One 25 meter lap and I was wondering why anyone decided that swimming might be a good idea. I thought I had a better chance of drowning than anything.
Well a couple of weeks later with drying out hair to prove it (I made my first oh-so-sexy-swim-cap purchase today), I think I'm falling in love. I love how it is working out without feeling like it. I like how until October or it gets cold, I get to swim outside. I love how you get to kind of get to know people because there are always more people than lanes so sharing is inevitable. I even remet one of our students that is involved with us about 25 minutes into swimming in the same lane. Plus the number of people going to swim is a much smaller percentage than the gereneral rec so I have a good chance of seeing the same people over and over again. I love how swimming in the same lane as someone pushes you to go farther as you try to pace yourself with them. Thus far only twice have I been the faster more continual swimmer, so it's been helpful to me. I love how it is relaxing.
I've often had the thought of "I wonder how many things in this world I love, I just have never tried them so don't know I love them." Well check to realizing swimming is on that list.

Yes! I'm so happy for you. It's so relaxing and super healthy. I love to swim. Talk about clearing your mind and getting into that trance like feeling. Yay! So proud of you and so happy that someone so dear to me enjoys the same sport! Us swimmers need to stick together!
